Abracadabra is
a magically creative children's television program featuring
Mike, a kindhearted magician, and his "wooden-headed"
pal Joey. Abracadabra is set primarily in Mike's magic
shop. Each episode follows a theme that offers an important
lesson for children. |

An extraordinary supporting
cast was assembled for Abracadabra, including
13 talented children. Both human and puppet characters
are featured. Together, these characters take
viewers through a delightful story filled with
magic, original music, and humor. At the conclusion
or each episode, Joey records the day's events
into his computer journal, reinforcing the lesson
learned that day.
To ensure the highest quality in educational
content, we consulted a Quality Evaluation
Committee. This group of educators, journalists,
physicians, and child psychologists generously
donated their time and input for, the development
of content and ensuring that educational objectives
were met.

While each episode focuses on a particular theme, special
segments enhance the entertainment and educational value.
In the first episode, Professor Science teaches safe
and simple experiments that can be done at home. Kate
the Costume Shop Lady shows how to make a healthy snack. Mike
demonstrates a Quick Trick that kids can do on their own or
with their family.

|
| The original songs of Abracadabra reinforce
the themes of the show. Various other mediums are
used to encourage interaction, expand the learning
experience, and complement the important messages
of the show. These include the Abracadabra
web site and an Abracadabra newsletter. |
|
|
| With its bright colors, magic, and signs, the Abracadabra
set is fun and exciting. Every episode is filled with music,
magic, and amusement. The cast includes carefully selected characters
that everyone can identify with. |
| Look for the Abracadabra show on your public
broadcasting station. We hope you have a great time
here in the magical world of Mike and Joey, and
remember, the real magic is in you! |
