| This experiment is called “The Dancing Raisins.” You’ll
need: |
| 1. A tall clear drinking glass |
| 2. Soda pop such as 7-up, Sprite, or club soda |
| 3. Raisins |
|
|
|
|
|
Fill the glass about 3/4 full with the soda
pop. Drop in about six raisins. Watch as the raisins slowly
sink to the bottom of the glass and then begin to rise
back up to the top and move up and down as if they were
dancing! This is occurs because the bubbles in the soda
pop attach themselves to the raisins, causing the raisins
to float. When the raisins come up to the surface of the
glass, the bubbles pop and the raisins sink back down.
Looks like magic but it's science! |
